narwhals & unicorns

who doesn't love these mystical creatures? but are they just so simple to be enamored by? even still, should we only embrace that they are just mythical/mystical/ legends of land and sea?
recently, my friend @zwzzy (her etsy) threw out a request for some drawings of the two creatures. she is going to print some t's!
as always, i had to meditate on a theme. since the two are so similar, in that they are horned, i knew i could find my voice. sketching away, i found that i loved the idea of one of the two viewing itself as the other. in other words, i would humanize these creatures with some from narcissism or body dysmorphia all with a healthy helping of humor. while these are in the works, I was able to lay pencil and pen to paper and play a bit more loosely with the theme. stay tuned for what is to come. and if you have any sketches please post below:
Yet, it's close to Halloween and since @zwzzy is behind this inspiration, i found that is was more than appropriate to take from her costume at last year's party and make this:
